SOCIAL WORKERS AND PROTECTION OF VULNERABLE GROUPS AN INTRODUCTION

The debates on protection of vulnerable groups have gained attention and recognition in the Malaysia society and government. This book discusses the meaning and definition of vulnerable groups, the relationship of social work and vulnerable groups as well as the position of social work in Malaysia. Social work comprises a vast areas, however, this book highlights on protection of children, women, elders, and person with disabilities, protection of refugee and the Indigenous People in Malaysia. The relationship of legal policies in protecting these vulnerable groups from the Malaysia legal system as well as as international laws also been discussed. It is hoped that this book can generate an understanding to the legal aspects related to social workers in Malaysia.
